Billy Snowdon joined us last year and since then has become a solid member of the group. He’s probably the best Judo 1st Dan I’ve ever come across so when he offered to introduce a Judo group to Cyclone we jumped at the chance.
Billy started Judo in Jan 1999 under Chris Dawson (6th dan) At the Bushido Academy of Judo and went on to complete a Referees examination under the Bushido in September 2001. In January 2006 he completed a coaching award under Chris Dawson and a year later In January 2007 completed his 1st Dan grading at his first attempt.
Billy has competed widely on the local and national Judo circuit and in May of this year (2010) had his first MMA fight winning by unanimous decision.
Whilst training a Cyclone Billy has worked hard to learn the stand up game and to progress his BJJ too.
Cyclone Judo uses both the Gi and No Gi to promote the use of Judo for MMA competition which has been somewhat under used but shown to be a devastating skill set to have in both Pride and the UFC.
