Cyclone Class Summary & Timetable

I thought we’d add this in just to help people decide on the best classes for them. By all means call us or email if you need more information. For FAQ’s please click Here.



All classes here are at the Cyclone Gym in Walbottle. Please try to arrive around 15 minutes before the class starts.

Monday 7pm – 8.15pm Mixed Martial Arts
All the elements needed for MMA competition including stand up and ground work.  Some martial arts experience in both stand up fighting and groundwork is required for this class. Beginners should attend Tuesdays and wednesday or saturday classes before starting this class.

Tuesday 6.30pm – Cyclone Beginners Class
Light conditioning followed by all the basic drills you need to join Cyclone’s main program. Includes boxing and clinch drills, basic kicking and some takedown work.
Advised Equipment: Gumshield (all other equipment is provided or can be bought at club store)

Wednesday 6.30pm – No Gi Grappling
Ground fighting based on BJJ and Submission wrestling, perfect for mixed martial arts (MMA)
Advised Equipment: Shorts or Gi Botttoms, Rashguard. (www.fightstoremma.com)

Thursday 6.00pm  – 7.30 Boxing for MMA
Either Western Pro Style Boxing ran by Ex Pro Boxer Tim Hill or Chinese boxing ran by Cyclone Instructor Alex Wright. This class  encompasses punching, kicking, dirty boxing and pad work alongwith many partner drills and sparring
Advised Equipment: Gumshield, Boxing gloves, also shinguards for Chinese Boxing sessions.

Friday 6.o0pm – Cyclone Beginners Class II
Light conditioning followed by all the basic drills you need to join Cyclone’s main program. Includes boxing, wrestling and clinch drills, basic kicking and some takedown work.  F
Advised Equipment: Gumshield, shorts & tee shirt (all other equipment is provided or can be bought at club store)

Friday 6.00pm Fighter Sparring Group (in Cage)
Parallel to beginners group this class in all forms sparring either K1/boxing, MMA or Submission Wrestling. Experienced Students only.

Saturday 11-1pm – Cyclone Judo
Combat Judo class with Sensei Billy Snowdon. Judo for fighting not Kata. Beginners welcome.
Advised Equipment: As wednesday but a Gi will be needed after initial sessions. Available at the club.

Saturday 1.15pm – Beginners No Gi Jiu Jitsu
No Gi BJJ with Junior Instructor Steve Middleton. The foundations of No Gi Jiu Jitsu which is the most common ground fighting system used for MMA competition.
Advised Equipment: As Wednesday, Serious members should consider buying a gi (www.fightstoremma.com)

Sunday 2 – 4pm – Fighters Group
Technical and Sparring class. Invite only.
